Toastmasters BBQ part 2

Just wanted to remember a few more pictures of the party. The story is on the next blog. At last they are finishing up the brawts (hand carried from Minisota for the party today). Everyone has gotten pretty hungry by this time. I didn't have breakfast or lunch and it is 3:00 at this time. I was waiting for our late lunch with baited breath.
All it took was for Travis and Kimberly to come out with the first plate.......
and away everyone went. It was great food. Pot luck with lots of different salads. Pretty yummy.
Suzzy was a great hit. Most of them loved her and tried to entice her to pay attention to them. Didn't work. She only had eyes for her daddy. When Richard and I went in to the house to dish up the food Suzzy lost us. I guess she was pretty frantic running around the porch trying to find up. Everyone got a kick out of it.
Bruce (at the back) was heading back for Boise from up north. He put in an appearance for about 10 minutes. Too bad, he came before the food was ready. We appreciated him taking the time to show up.

Toastmasters BBQ

As most of you know I belong to Toastmasters Boise, 61 club (started in 1939). I love the social communication that is available through this club. It is especiall helpful because I have so little in my current job. This allows we to get out in crease my ability in public speaking and leadership. Besides, it is a lot of fun. So this weekend we had a BBQ up in Garden Valley at "Vandy's" place. This is a picture off his back porch. I just sat and stared at the beautiful site. It was very calming. For the first hour there were only about five of us. We sat and talked, laughed and took in nature.
Between 2:00 and 2:00 the rest of the group showed up. Lots of good food, fun and friend. This party included members and significant others. (starting at the right is Jay [m] , Jordan, Jane [m] and George [m]).

Don and Gorge brought out the gutair and we had a sing along. Most people participated in singing the oldies and those who didn't enjoying watching.
We made sure that we got a picure of every one. This really is a good group. Even Dad felt comfortable and had a good time. It is nice to have some friends to hang out with weekly (you will find me there every Tuesday night) and occationally for parties.
Starting at the back left: Richard, Gayle, Vandy, Travis, Jordan, Dan, Jane, Ann, Ann's friend (forgot his name) and Jay. Second row Fred's wife, Fred, Dave, Karl Johnson (Area Governer), and Mary. Front row Annette. George must of snuck away and isn't pictured. Kimberly Travis's sister is the one taking a picture. I add everyone's name to this so that I will remember every one in the future. For anyone that knows me, knows that I forget names way too easily. This note will help me to never forget. As Sarah says, this blog is fun to share but it also helps cronical our lives.

Humming Bird day.

At the toastmasters BBQ up in Garden Valley there were several humming birds. I have never seen so many, and have them unafraid of people.

I just set with the camera focused on the bird feeder and waited for the birds to fly in. During the whole BBQ they were flying in and out. It was amazing to see so much of their actions.

At times, there were 3-4 of them. We were told that humming birds have their route set out each day. They move from one feeding spot to another, usually the same. So when one explory bird finds a new feeder they quickly add that to thier route.

Vandy (owner of house) said that all the rain this year produced more flowering weeds which brought a slew of humming birds in. I have never seen anything like it. So they feed on the flowers, then buzz up to the porch and help themselves to the sugar water. It gets to be a feeding ground for ant too. There were a large gathering of ants under the feeding making use of the dripping water.

Yea!!!! I just found my camera

I am back up again. I have found my camera.
Dad came home yesterday and fixed lunch. So I celebrated and took his picture.
Hmmmmm, great meal.

Kyle's wedding

As you all know that Kyle is getting married next week end. I love that I can "borrow" pictures to populate the blog, esp. since my camera is missing. I am excited about going. I am going to go with Leslie on Tue night. Up to Island park for some R&R. Then roll up our sleves and get this wedding on a roll. Hope that Kyle and Staci may one day come our way so that we can get to know them. Looking forward to seeing them in September when we have the big family party for them. Lester you may want to plan for that is possible. Good luck Kyle and congradulations.

WHERE IS MY CAMERA

So it has been a bit frustrating. I have increased my enjoyment of taking pictures, by creating this blog. So I have had some great things happening and no camera to take pictures.
What's the deal with that.
So I guess I will have to put words on and tear this house apart until I find where the camera is hidden.
We had a great party when Jane and Lester came to visit. Well Jane put a couple of pictures on her FaceBook so again I borrowed them. Thanks so much Jane for the work, at least I have something.

Cute couple huh.

We had a great party last week and got to know Jane a bit. It was great food, fun, and family. Thanks everyone for all the work that you did.

New things on Lester and Jane. Lester is moving to Salt Lake City. It was felt that if these too were really going to get married it would be a good idea for them to live in the same place for a while and get to know each other. Jane is flying to Cincinnati, OH on Saturday. Then Lester, Jane and Marco will be driving straight through to Idaho (long, long, drive). They will drop Marco off in Boise and then drive to SLC.

Sooooooooo, Lester do you have a place to live yet?

He is planning on working with Pinicle same as before. Then he hopes to get a second job at Gold's Gym (kill two birds with one stone huh). Job made in heaven for Lester. Jane and her family work out a lot and they will also help build Lester's endurance. Their idea of a good time is running 10 miles--Jane is a marathon runner. If he keeps up with her, just think how easy it will be to keep up with those big guys on the football field.

With all the changes that Lester has been making you may be wondering is Lester is still interested in playing for BSU.

Yes

He is planning on moving back to start the final hard hitting work out before tryouts in Feb. Good luck Lester we are all pulling for you.

So that is the changes. Dad and I are just moving from day to day. We love you all and pray for you daily. When I find my camera I will start again to update you on all the interesting (???? :) lol ) things in our lives.
LOVE YA ALL MOM

Memory

My daughter had this on her blog and I wanted to try too.

Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you (and if this isn't on there...I'll assume you're a procrastinator like me and will check back later!)

Buff Boy

I received a call from L. today while he was out working. He left his phone on and I had the opportunity to listen. Very interesting--thanks for the oportunity. I have been asking him to put more pictures on his site so that we can see how he is looking. He called to say he finally did.

When Dad saw the picture he said, "Who is that."

Then, "Oh my goodness he has an 8 pack." You can tell this boy has been working hard. No more "Chubby boy" like the neighborhood kids called him as he was growing up. No more roundness, just hard planes. Keep up the good work L. and you will be ready to try out for BSU again in Feb.

Keep the pictures coming. Share a picture of the area that you are in. Thanks. MOM

More fun in the sun.

Hi M. gotcha. Love the garden. You guys did a great job on the garden. It will be great fun when you get to eat all that great food.

Hey, do I get a bite.

Lets go flying high in the sky. You guys look great.
Weeeee, that is the way to fly.

Wow, great flip. Got to have lots of guts to do that.
Brings back lots of memories from when my kids had fun on the tramp.

Poor buck got in to a huge dog figth and lost a couple of chuncks of skin. Brave Jake got the privilage of stiching him back together. Looks like he is healing well with the use of the crown to keep him from licking at it. Looks interesting, and makes getting around facinating. Good luck in getting better fast.

E.'s birthday party fun and guest.

Wow, kyle does smile, that is if I can catch him unaware.

Having fun with grandpa G.

Also, had fun with grandma and grandpa H. Lots of old folks around.

The princes did a great job in blowing out her candles. It was a great time.

Mom was going to have the party with only the family as guests. M. decided they needed some guests to help share. Thanks M. both of us grandparents enjoyed being there and sharing the time and company.

Sweet, Sweet Birthday girl. 2 years old

How did this happen so fast. E. is already 2 years old. We love you little one.

Let's get up and see what is going on. Looks great, let's get started.
Yea, noisy toys, and pretty purple. Lot's of fun things to keep a princes busy.

To top the party off there was great cake and ice cream. Thanks for the picture M, didn't get all the way out so we get to see your pretty face also. What a pretty princes. We look forward to many more parties.

4th of July camping fun Part 5 and finished.

Yea, what a great time. It was well worth all the time, the bugs, heat and insomnia. We had a great trip with lots of memories. I hope that the older kids, are left with some great memories that come back when they grow up.
So you get to start at the end of our trip and move forward. Enjoy, we did.

Let's go for a wild ride with N, 4th July, Part 4

Mommy, mommy, mommy lets go for a ride.
Wait a minue, where are we going, what are you doing.

Weeeeeeee, I am flying.

What's happening, I am falling, falling, falling.
Yea, arrived safely in one piece. with a big smile on my face.
Let's do it again.

Doggy fun in the sun 4th of July, part 3

Mortamer enjoyed a great dip, and dip and dip.

Mortamer grew up with suzzy. He thinks that he is the same size as her. He wants to jump in grandpa's lap or on him just like suzzy does.

Now you may so that it is just so obvious the difference in size, but suzzy doesn't even see it. She thinks that she is bigger than Mortamer. Makes for an interesting evening sometimes.

We didn't think that we would be able to get suzzy out in the water. But, after standing on the beach and watching everyone have all the fun, she jumped in and joined grandpa. Of course, she wanted to get as far away from the water as possible. I think that this is grandpa's favorite picture.

Mortamer thought that grandpa and suzzy were having too much fun, so he had to join.

This is how all of us felt at the end of the day. Ready for a good long nap.

Suzzy and Mortamer are used to sleeping all day and sitting with Dad all night. We wore them out.

4th of July camping fun Part 2

What really made the trip :-)??????
Swimming, swimming, swimming. Everyday we found a great swim hole to play in. There was lots of fun in the sun, but with lots of sun screen we didn't have much sun burn. Thanks so much on that account.
Monster dog Mortamer really found his place. He did a great job swimming and fetching. No problem jumping in and getting wet.
The babies had no problem in the water (that is until they really got tired). Now H and L like to stay on the beach and just dip in a bit. Was really proud of both of them though. L learned to like the water if she was in the water with one of the adults holding her. H on the other had learned to get comfortable rolling around at the edge, just a long as he didn't get in above thigh level. But each found their fun. The adults just enjoyed the wet, cooling, soothing water. Add to that the fun of watching the kids and dogs, what a blast.

C decided to try using Mortamer as a horse. He is really as big as one. Nathan had a great time on his ride and mortomer put up with it with out a bark or a rooo-rooo.

Loved, loved, loved and water. Dad and I had flooties to hold us up so that we could go out really deap and just sit and floot. Awww, stress reduction, just loved it.

Happy 4th of July-Part 1

We had a hot, hot, vacation, hot fun, and hot hot.
There was no shade so we had to bring our own. I swear it was 115 degrees out. We brought our canape with no instructions. Yea that was fun. We stood outside in the sun burning up half fainting trying to figure out how to put the little pieces together. Dad walked off, probably taking one of the grandkids with him. After S. finished putting up her tent the three girls went to town. Felt really great when we finally got the cover one (took us 3 times to get it on right). But, it was all worth it.

C. quickly took the time to set up the cot and take a rest. Mission accomplished. Everyone took a few minutes to recover in the shade.
Even Suzzy was able to take some time to sit in the shade.

The little ones reveled in a cool juice. Eventually we filled up the cooler with water for a quick dip for the little ones. Wish we had a bigger pool for all of us.
Awwww. The final top it off for the day was the ribs. She S.'s blog for the great receipe. It took a while to get the meal together and dutch oven cook it so we finally ate about 10:00. But wow, thanks so much S. the meal was just great. WE really savored it. Great thing was that there was some left over for the next day.
That day ended on a mad dash. Just as we were finishing our meal a huge swarm of nats flew in. I have never seen anything like it, it turely was amazing. We had to dash into the camper. Even then they slipped it when we opened the door. Dad and I took our little vacume and tried to vacume them out of the air and off the ceiling. interesting experience. What was really interesting was the bathrooms the next day. There was so many dead, nats that the water in the comodes were black and the seats were covered. A truely amazing experience. We were very glad that this was an unusual experience. Never happened again. The wind came with a rush the rest of the time and blew them all away. In the end it also paid off not having the shade. The misquito's didn't like it either and we got some relief there. Thanks so much. Thanks girls for all your work. We really have great memories.
